Caleb Down of Ohio State is headed to Dallas

Caleb Downswas the 11th pick of the 2026 NFL Draft, chosen by theDallas Cowboys.

The Buckeys' safety started in 2023 at Alabama before transferring to Ohio State in 2024, where he stayed.

His career highlights include 256 total tackles over three years with 163 solo tackles, 1.5 sacks, 6 interceptions and 2 punt return touchdowns.

Malachi Lawrence makes Cowboys roster

Malachi Lawrence of UCF was the 23rd pick on night 1 of the NFL Draft by the Cowboys.

The UFC edge rusher was stuck with the college all four years, racking up 72 total tackles with 20 sacks.

Lawrence's selection fills the Cowboys' need for an edge rusher as the team tradedMicah Parsons to the Green Bay Packersahead of the 2025 NFL season.

Keylan Rutledge picked byHouston Texans

No. 26 pick, Keylan Rutledge of Georgia Tech, is headed to H-Town for the 2026 NFL season.

The Yellow Jacket Guard started at Middle Tennessee State in 2022 and moved to Georgia Tech in 2024.

In his four years in college, Rutledge recorded 3,019 offensive snaps. He was also the first Georgia Tech player since Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Calvin Johnson to be named a First Team All-American in consecutive years.

He was also named to the First Team All-ACC in 2024 and 2025.

NEWCASTLE, England (AP) — Newcastle full back Tino Livramento could miss the rest of the season because of a thigh injury, jeopardizing his place inEngland’s squad for the World Cup.

Livramento has been a regular — when healthy — in Thomas Tuchel’s England squads this season and is valued because of his ability to play both at right back and left back.

He sustained what Newcastle manager Eddie Howe described Friday as a “bad injury” in the 2-1 loss to Bournemouth last weekend and has already undergone an initial scan.

“He is due to have another scan at the weekend to determine the full extent of his time out,” Howe said. “We will wait and see whether he plays again this season.”

The Premier League finishes on May 24 and England’s final World Cup squad must be submitted by May 30.

England’s first-choice right back appears to be Chelsea’s Reece James, who is currently injured, whileTuchel has been overlookingReal Madrid's Trent Alexander-Arnold. Burnley's Kyle Walker retired from international duty in March.

It leaves Jarell Quansah and Ezri Konsa – naturally center backs – and Ben White, who hasn’t been a regular starter for Arsenal, as other potential right-back options.

The World Cup begins June 11 and takes place in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Motta saves 4 penalties in shootout win over Atalanta as Lazio reaches Italian Cup final

BERGAMO, Italy (AP) — Lazio’s 21-year-old goalkeeper Edoardo Motta saved four consecutive spot kicks as the Roman club beat Atalanta in a penalty shootout on Wednesday to reach theItalian Cupfinal.

The score was 1-1 after extra time. The first leg ended 2-2.

Motta — who joined Lazio in January — stopped shots from Gianluca Scamacca, Davide Zappacosta, Mario Pasalic and Charles De Ketelaere as Lazio won the shootout 2-1 with Gustav Isaksen and Kenneth Taylor converting for the visitors.

Lazio will face Serie A leader Inter Milan in the May 13 final.

Inter came back from two goals down for a 3-2 victory over Como on Tuesday after a 0-0 first leg.

Alessio Romagnoli and Pasalic traded goals in the final minutes of regulation. Motta then pushed a header from Scamacca off the post in stoppage time.

Celtics storm to early lead, roll past 76ers in series opener

Jaylen Brown scored a game-high 26 points and Jayson Tatum added 25 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists to lead the Boston Celtics to a 123-91 victory over the visiting Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday in Game 1 of an Eastern Conference first-round playoff series.

Sam Hauser made 4 of 6 attempts from 3-point range and added 12 points for second-seeded Boston, which never trailed in the game.

"One, we have to have an understanding of, I thought we got off to a good start in the series," Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla said. "And two, it really doesn't matter anymore because in 48 hours we have to do it again, and we have to expect a better version of both our opponent and ourselves."

"The strength of our team is we have a bunch of different ways we can play. Everybody has to be ready. ... We had some guys make big plays throughout."

Seventh-seeded Philadelphia received 21 points with eight assists from Tyrese Maxey and 17 from Paul George. VJ Edgecombe scored 13 and Kelly Oubre Jr. finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.

The 76ers shot 38.9% from the floor, including 4 of 23 (17.4%) from 3-point territory. No Philadelphia player made more than one 3-pointer.

"It was one of those games where I thought we did a pretty good job of shot creation, you just can't live with not making them," said Sixers head coach Nick Nurse. "I thought we shied away from taking some 3-pointers.

Philadelphia also committed 15 turnovers, which helped Boston hold a 22-3 edge in points off turnovers.

"A lot went wrong, that's for sure," Nurse said. "It kind of started right from the beginning. The first quarter was moving past us pretty quick, and we just didn't do enough on either end to settle into the game. We didn't execute very well at the defensive end and put ourselves in a hole."

Boston center Neemias Queta was in foul trouble for much of the game but scored 13 points in 15 minutes of playing time.

Boston had an early double-digit lead after a Tatum jumper ended an 11-1 spurt that put the Celtics up 17-7. Philadelphia was 6 of 21 (28.6%) from the field -- 1 of 9 from 3-point range -- in the opening quarter and trailed 33-18 after the opening 12 minutes.

"I thought our fans were great, helped us get off to a good start," said Mazzulla. "Playoff basketball obviously means more and it's different in Boston, which we appreciate."

The Celtics stretched their lead to 23 points in the second quarter and held a 64-46 halftime lead. Tatum scored 21 of his 25 points in the opening half.

"Defensively, I thought (Tatum) was really good," said Mazzulla of the six-time All-Star. "Rebounding was great. Offensively, just gave the game what it needs."

After the 76ers trimmed their deficit to 15 midway through the third, Boston went on a 10-0 to extend its lead 83-58. The Celtics led by as many as 26 later in the quarter and had a 95-71 advantage entering the fourth. Brown scored 16 of his 26 points in the third.

The Celtics held a 107-75 lead following a Payton Pritchard layup with 9:03 to play. Boston led by as many as 35 later in the fourth.

Game 2 in the series will be Tuesday night in Boston.

"They need to let this one go," Nurse said of the Sixers.
