A pet donkey is having the best time playing with his new red ball in the pasture, and it’s hard to look away. From running over to investigate his surprise to braying with excitement the minute he sees it, he’s clearly having the time of his life.
This donkey has the energy of a toddler waking up from a nap and discovering a brand-new toy waiting for him. And once his owner tosses the ball into the pasture, the real fun begins for this guy.
The adorable footage was shared on Instagram by user @meetsillydonkey, who has been delighting viewers with this miniature donkey’s positive take on life lately. You’ll want your sound on for this one:
Once the ball is launched out into the field, the donkey takes off after it. But he doesn’t just pick it up and bring it back for another throw. He leans his whole upper body into it, testing the ball’s buoyancy and his own balance at the same time.
After rolling around on the ball for a few moments, he nudges it this way and that, determined to get a good grip on his new toy. Eventually, this playful boy grabs the ball by the handle and excitedly swings it side to side and round and round, rearing up on his hind legs with delight.
