Despite kicking off the 2026 WNBA Finals on a strong note, Angel Reese failed to carry that form in the second half of the series.
After all, Reese had single-digit scoring output in three out of the last four games, including an 8-point outing in Game 7 of the series.
This allowed the Golden State Valkyries to overpower the Atlanta Dream and clinch the 2026 WNBA Finals. Reese has now broken her silence on her feelings about losing the WNBA Finals.
Considering Reese's terrible form in the finals, one may expect her to be sad. Well, that doesn't seem to be the case, at least that's what Reese's Instagram post suggests .
"I'm so grateful and blessed. God, THANK YOU for allowing me to play another season full of health, love, passion, joy, community, and so much more.
"When I pray before every game, I thank God for ALL the highs & lows because I truly mean it," Reese wrote.
She added, "I'm still numb from how it ended, but I realize not many get to experience this in just their 3rd year in the league.
"I'm BEYOND PROUD & have absolutely NOTHING to hang my head about. Every loss is a lesson & sometimes it's not NO, just NOT YET. Delayed, not denied. Trust me, I'm HUNGRY for more."
Reese also thanked her 'real friends,' who have supported her after the embarrassing Game 7 defeat.
The 24-year-old also thanked the city of Atlanta for making her feel at home in just seven months and is already excited for the 2027 regular season.
Can Reese and the Dream repeat this year's run, but with a different ending? Well, fans will find out when the WNBA season kicks off next year.
