Yahoo Sports Staff Updated Mon, November 2, 2026 at 2:04 PM UTC About Our Ads Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Week 8 of the 2026 NFL season is nearly a wrap, with just the Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks left to play on "Monday Night Football."
There was plenty of excitement on Sunday, including two games that went into overtime, but they unfortunately weren't without injuries. Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson made his return to the lineup after rehabbing an ankle injury, but that excitement was short-lived, as he suffered a thumb injury on his first pass attempt of the game. Per head coach Jesse Minter, he'll require surgery and a stint on the injured reserve list — a brutal blow.
Backup Tyler Huntley is also dealing with what is thought to be a turf toe injury , which forced Baltimore to resort to their emergency third quarterback, Joe Fagnano. He completed 10-of-21 passes for 91 yards and an interception in relief of Jackson and Huntley this week.
The Ravens are playing on a short week, as they're set to host the Jacksonville Jaguars on "Thursday Night Football" in Week 9.
The Detroit Lions handed the Minnesota Vikings their first loss of the season, but lost a key playmaker on defense as All-Pro linebacker Jack Campbell suffered a scary-looking neck injury. He was immobilized on a backboard before being transported to the hospital as his teammates gathered around him in an emotional scene.

Josh Jacobs has denied any wrongdoing after three other women contacted police to report abuse allegations against him while the Green Bay Packers running back was being investigated for a different incident earlier this year.
Jacobs' attorneys issued a statement on Sunday afternoon denying all three additional abuse allegations that were made against him, and said that he has "a substantial body of tangible evidence to back up his assertions."
"The three accounts are old, are hearsay and easily disproven, yet released to the media by police without any investigation to determine whether they were accurate or contradicted by evidence," his attorneys said, via the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "Josh is answering them in detail because of the character assassination that is occurring, unfairly threatening his career."
