The Brit lost his title to Oleksandr Usyk in July 2025 when the pair collided for the undisputed heavyweight championship.
Wardley (20-1-1, 19 KOs) came back from behind on the scorecards to stop Justis Huni in June 2025 and win the WBA interim title. The Brit found himself once again behind on the scorecards when he fought Joseph Parker for the WBO interim belt in October 2025, but produced another dramatic turnaround . Wardley was upgraded to full champion after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the belt.
